Exciting Partnership Announcement!
Safe Child Africa partnership with Street Mentors Network
September 2024
Everyone at Safe Child Africa is delighted to announce SCA’s new partnership with Street Mentors Network, whose grass-roots level work to support street children in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, is a great source of inspiration to us.
Street Mentors Network are a relatively new organisation run by a small group of young, dynamic, Nigerians with a clear passion for fighting for the rights of the less privileged. SMN is a non-profit organization based in Uyo, AKS. They provide holistic support to vulnerable children in street situations in Nigeria and believe that every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment to grow and thrive.
Together, we are committed to creating a brighter future for vulnerable children. This partnership will enable Street Mentors Network to make a more substantial impact, helping street children access education, acquire life-changing vocational skills, and realize their full potential.
Anita Michael, Executive Director of Street Mentors Network said: "Could one person change the world? Maybe not. But if one child's life becomes their world, then that person has changed the world.”
“The reward for the work we do at Street Mentors Network is found in the work itself. In the process of transformation, in the privilege to be a part of another child's story, there lies the reward: knowing that their childhood is not lost on the streets, and the future is whole, and that you contributed to making it happen.”
"The world is beautiful through the eyes of a child. You don't get to see It till you become one."
Gary Foxcroft, Founder and Chair of Trustees of Safe Child Africa said: “I am delighted to be working with this excellent, young, local organisation right at the grass-roots of this important work to support street children. Since our partnership started, we have already seen them grow and develop and we are proud to stand beside them.”
Safe Child Africa is humbled and grateful to be given the opportunity to support this new partner organisation and gives thanks to all of our donors whose support makes our work possible.
Stay tuned for updates on our joint initiatives and the incredible progress we will achieve together!
