New Shelter Building Springing Up in Calabar

New Shelter Building Springing Up in Calabar

Progress with the building of the new emergency children's shelter that Safe Child Africa is funding in Calabar, Nigeria is going well.

Thanks to support of our Christmas Challenge campaign with The Big Give in 2023, with the help of donors, Safe Child Africa has funded the building of the new shelter.

The space will help to provide temporary accommodation, protection, counselling, healthcare and love to children who have survived some of the worst forms of abuse imaginable.

Safe Child Africa Founder and Chair of Trustees, Gary Foxcroft said “Our funding of the Emergency Children’s Shelter is a fundamental and essential way to support some of the most vulnerable children in Nigeria. With this new building, we are reaffirming our commitment to children, both those already resident at the shelter and those who will need its safety in future”.

Eseoghene Edoja Ibor, Co-founder, & Programmes Coordinator at Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI) said "Thank you for your commitment...  We are very excited by the news".

The progress in the photograph above is just the beginning!

Supporters who are interested to follow more about the progress can sign up to our newsletter at the bottom of the website homepage to see exclusive photographs and updates as the building nears completion. We will keep you informed as the project progresses.

Our grateful thanks once again to everyone who has made this possible.
