The Heart of the Matter
The most rewarding part of our work is hearing about the impact on the children and young people we support and knowing that they can rest in the knowledge that they are safe, cared for and supported to fulfil their potential.
Every month we hear more stories of how children and families overcome seemingly insurmountable odds, to live the full life they deserve.
We simply love that last year, our wonderful donors helped to raise over £30,000 to save, support, educate and empower children, plus over £9,000 for our 2025 PACT project to advocate for children and work with a fearless team of pastors and Christian leaders to tackle the causes of child witchcraft accusations in communities.
So today on this 14 February, Safe Child Africa, along with some of the wonderful children we support in our projects, would like to say a huge thank you and send the love and gratitude back to everyone who has given so generously. Because of the complex nature of the cases we support, we rarely receive words directly from the children, but when we do, they say:
“[jumping for joy] Thank you! We love the new play space!”
“I want to thank you for what you did for me last year. You helped me pay my fees. I can't forget that in a hurry. With joy in my heart, I'm glad to tell you that I just bagged a Bachelor degree in History and International studies…”
“Happy Valentine Safe Child Africa. Long life and more wisdom from God. Go forth and go higher in Jesus’ name”
The Heart of the Matter is a training course we have developed with the Stop Child Witchcraft Accusations Coalition and BRCI to end child witchcraft accusations, so far it has been delivered in churches and church communities. We are excited to develop this course further in the coming months, to deliver the same message in schools. We will not rest until this appalling practice is ended.
We stand with our wonderful project partners, including Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI), Stepping Stones Model School, BEBOR Schools, Street Mentors Network, Advocacy for Alleged Witches, the carers, teachers, counsellors and lawyers, the foster families, advocates, youth workers and all who support our projects. We stand together to champion the rights of vulnerable children to experience the highest form of love:
- Freedom from fear, persecution and violence
- Safety to live life fully, learn and grow to their full potential
- Holding those who do harm to account

Sending you much love and joy from everyone at Safe Child Africa. Thank you.
