Stepping Stones Model School
The original focus of the charity was to work with the amazing local head-teacher, Grace Udua, (pictured bottom, far left) and Chief, Victor Ikot (pictured bottom, far right), to build the Stepping Stones Model School in Akwa Ibom State.
With much hard work, generosity and dedication, the school eventually opened in 2006 (in the building you just clicked).
Today, nearly 20 years later, the school remains the most outstanding in the area and has provided 1,300+ pupils with an excellent education. 40% of the pupils at the school are provided with a scholarship, with the remaining paying a small termly fee to cover running costs.
The children learn a variety of skills such as farming, computer skills and carpentry, in addition to a strong moral teaching component, which is delivered by all of our outstanding team of teachers.
We believe in the importance of play, with pupils being provided with plenty of time to explore the playground and the wider grounds.
We are proud that many of our pupils are now university graduates, and one has even recently returned to the school to work as a teacher.
Pupils learn through a variety of fun, evidence based, methodologies in well equipped classrooms.
